an eerie, halloweenish, &/or generally autumnal

Lots of great autumn/halloween prompts and fills here - stop by and play! My contribution is this little drabble about Amy and Rory going apple-picking.

Autumn, I am in you.

Hello Fellow Yuletider!

First things first, let's get this out of the way: you are awesome. I mean that. We already have something in common - our fandom - and I know I will love whatever you write for me. Everything below is meant as suggestion. You can totally ignore it, but if you don't, I hope it is helpful or maybe gives you a starting point. And, if you have any questions, feel free to drop htbthomas a line, and she can help you out as my Yuletidelicious go-between (because she is awesome like that).

I don't watch a ton of fanvids, but if I do like a vid I tend to LOOOOVE it. (I should really do a post sometime with a list of my all-time favorite fanvids.) Anyway, these are two videos I've discovered recently that are a) hilarious, b) coincidentally both set to Lonely Island songs, and c) did I mention totally hilarious?

Martin Scorsese - This one isn't really a fandom vid (and it maybe works a little better if you're familiar with Scorsese's films) but god, it's so funny and just a perfect match for the song (Jack Sparrow, aka the one where Michael Bolton loves Pirates of the Caribbean). Also serves as a strong reminder that De Niro was all kinds of messed-up hot in "Taxi Driver".

Sherlock'd In His Pants - Once you know this vid is set to the song Jizz in My Pants, you know the joke here, but the real humor is in the kind of stunningly perfect editing. This one made me literally laugh out loud. (And, in case it isn't obvious, it's Sherlock - Sherlock/John.)

Rewatching both of these while writing this post might have just made my Saturday, you guys.

Title: Shadows on a Sunshine Day
Author: blithers
Fandom: Community
Pairing/Character: Troy/Annie
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: none
Word Count: 1588
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Also Posted At: AO3
Author's Note: Originally written for the Community TV kink meme for the prompt "Troy/Annie - They made out in high school at a party but Troy doesn't remember, which is why Annie is so annoyed with him not recognizing her in the pilot.” This version has been cleaned up and tweaked a little since then, with a slightly different (expanded) ending, and beta read by the amazing htbthomas.
Summary: He keeps reminding himself that they hadn't lost the game, hadn't disappointed anybody, and he tries to numb the crazy feelings bouncing around in his body with the flat beer from the keg, clutching the red Solo cup in his hand like a ward against evil.

Hey! So narutootaku made a podfic of my short story Practical Applications of Continuous Eye Contact - she posted it as part of the community_tv's podfic battle, and it's also here on AO3. It's fun and awesome and only three minutes long (I can't believe the story is that short!) so go, check it out!

Also, writing this up made me realize that I don't think I ever properly recommended Sociological Factors in Modern Genocidal Psychopathy, which was written based on my Tea Time and Time Lords fic, and is an awesome and funny story where the study group and the Doctor run into the Daleks. It's everything I could ever hope for in a Britta/Daleks showdown. I was really honored somebody took my story and ran with it, and that it turned out so perfect is just the cherry on top.

I'm still writing ficlets, so stop by and leave me a prompt, if you like. I need more to write!

I feel like I want to write something, but I'm not sure what that might be.

So.

Leave me a fandom, a character or ship, and an optional prompt, and I'll write you a tiny ficlet. The boyfriend's away for the weekend and I think this sounds like an excellent use of my time.

Written:
Brisco, Brisco/Dixie, Understanding
Parks and Rec, someone is nice to Jerry
Spaced, Tim and Mike, fandom

Fandoms I'll Try: 30 Rock, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, Alice, Arrested Development, Avengers, Chuck (all except the last season), Community, The Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas, new Doctor Who, Firefly, Futurama, Iron Man, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men (through the end of season 2), Moonlighting, My Boys, Once Upon a Time, Parks and Rec, Pride and Prejudice, Pushing Daisies, Slings & Arrows*, Sherlock, Spaced, Tangled, Veronica Mars, X-Men:FC or movieverse, or pretty much any other fandom you might know that I like

* I just finished watching Slings & Arrows, and oh my god I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT IT. I cried during the entire production of King Lear in the church. I'm still not quite sure I understand why. I don't even like Lear all that much, but oh man. Oh man. That show.

Author's Note: This story is intended to be a short missing scene from my story Tea Time and Time Lords, where the study group travels with the Doctor as companions. This should be standalone, however, so no need to read the other story unless you feel like it. Written for the Milady/Milord fic battle for eleventhimpala's prompt: "Jeff, Annie and The Doctor encounter the Weeping Angels."
Summary: The study group meets the Weeping Angels.
